Nancy Kicklighter

Nancy Kicklighter, 81, of Townsend, GA passed away Thursday August 23, 2012 at the Liberty Regional Medical Center in Hinesville, GA. A memorial service will be held 12 noon Tuesday August 28, 2012 at the Shellman Bluff Baptist Church with Rev. Andy Haman officiating. Family will receive friends Tuesday from 11 am till the hour of service.

Mrs. Kicklighter was a native of Tattnall County born July 14, 1931 to the late Gladys Louise Lane Kennedy and the late Eula B. Kennedy. She had been a resident of McIntosh County since 1940. Mrs. Kicklighter graduated from Darien High School and was employed by the McIntosh Gas Company for 21 years. She was a member of the Shellman Bluff Baptist Church, the Eastern Star and the Shellman Bluff Fishing Club. .

Mrs. Kicklighter was an avid fisherman that enjoyed making sea crafts. She was a loving mother and grandmother that loved spending time with her family.

In addition to Mrs. Kicklighter’s parents she is preceded in death by Kerry P. Kicklighter and Bert Kennedy.

Survivors include her daughter: Judith Ratliff (Roger) of Shellman Bluff; her grandchildren: Jarrad Duncan (Terri) of Forsyth, GA, and Eric Terry (Jessica) of Winton-Salem; her great grandson: Cole Duncan of Forsyth, GA and a brother: Joe Kennedy (Dine) of Canton, NY. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
