

Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Thursday 3/24/11 at Bible Baptist Church with Reverend Mike Landrum officiating. Interment will be in Chapel Park Cemetery. Serving active pallbearers are Scott Grimsley, Tim Grimsley, Clay Harrison, Greg Robinson, Douglas Robinson, Jr. and Tom Clarke. Honorary pallbearers are Jack and Helen Moran; and the Staff of the Senior Care Center.
Family will receive friends from 6-8 pm. Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.
Mr. Grimsley was a native of Randolph County born March 9, 1924 to the late Gordon Benjamin and the late Julia Jane Singleton Grimsley. He had been a resident of Glynn County since 1959, and served in the U.S. Army during the WWII and the Korean War conflict. He retired from the Federal Government as a Postal Clerk at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC). Mr. Grimsley enjoyed farming, gardening, outdoors, and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to Mr. Grimsley’s parents he is preceded in death by his first wife Hazel Grimsley and his second wife Laurie Grimsley; a brother Gordon Grimsley and a sister Marinell Givens.
Survivors include his son Gary Grimsley (Jane) of Hortense, GA; two daughters Shirley Grimsley of Brunswick, GA and Jan Clarke (Tom) of Savannah, GA; Step-Daughter Pat Dean of Shellman Bluff, GA; two Grandsons Tim Grimsley (Anita) and Scott Grimsley (Marcie); five Great-Grandchildren; and a sister Juanita Wilson of Preston, GA
