Phyllis J. Laitta, age 86, of St. Simons Island, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. Phyllis was a member of St. Simons Presbyterian Church and will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Tom Laitta.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Dr. Jan Rossiter of St. Simons Island; two grandsons, Luke Rossiter and his wife, Katie, of St. Simons and Ian Rossiter of Athens; a great-grandson, Connor Rossiter of St. Simons, and several nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held at Oglethorpe Memorial Gardens on St. Simons Island.
Remembrances may be made in her honor to St. Simons Presbyterian Church or to Hospice of the Golden Isles.
