

Richard David Pelletier, 72, of St. Simons Island, died Sunday, April 12, 2015 at Homelife on Glynco in Brunswick after a long struggle with Alzheimer's. Born February 2, 1943 in Manchester, New Hampshire to the late Leo and Rita C. Pelletier, he was a graduate of the University of Michigan and a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam era. After he retired as an insurance agent for Lincoln National Life he worked part-time in the Golf Learning Center at Sea Island where he pursued his passion for golf. He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and as a hobbyist enjoyed model trains. He was a faithful parishioner of St. William Catholic Church where as he also served in various ministries.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Lutz Pelletier of St. Simons Island and seven children; Francine Nesti (Frank) of Birmingham, MI, Therese Schwartz (Kurt) of Kalamazoo, MI, Cynthia Cross of St. Simons Island, Jennifer Berry (Jeffrey) of St. Simons Island, Robert Lutz of Fairfax, VT, Jeffrey Lutz (Tara) of Lafayette, LA and Matthew Lutz (Mona) of East Calais, VT; two brothers, Steven Pelletier (Cheryl) of Farmington Hills, MI and Maurice Pelletier (Judy) of Las Vegas, NV; eighteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Mr. Pelletier was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Pelletier.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 11am at St. William Catholic Church with Msgr. John Kenneally officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Church Columbarium.
