Robert Lewis Wagner, 92, of Darien, departed this life Sunday, November 29, 2015 at SGHS in Brunswick. The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon December 2, 2015 from 3PM until 4 PM at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.
Born April 2, 1923 in Redfield, Iowa to the late John L. and Bertha N. Wagner, he was a US Navy Veteran of WWII and a Pearl Harbor survivor. He retired from the US Navy as an aviation machinist, and was a member of the American Legion for over 70 years. Mr. Wagner was an avid Bingo player at both the K of C and American Legion. He enjoyed square dancing, hunting, fishing and spending time with his “Gal” Sylvia. Mr. Wagner had been a resident of McIntosh County for the past 26 years and was of the Methodist Faith. Survivors include his wife Sylvia H. Wagner of Darien, 7 children, Debbie Gregory of Washington, DC, Polly Rousselle of Atlanta, Robbie Wagner of Jacksonville, FL, Linda Durrence of Darien, Jimmie Durrence of Brunswick, Derrell Durrence of Australia, and Larry Durrence of Darien, 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
