Ronald W. Matheny, 85, of St. Simons Island, Georgia passed peacefully on July 24, 2015 surrounded by his wife and children. Ron was born January 31, 1930 in Clarksburg, West Virginia, the loving son of Loretta Matheny Goots and Don Goots. He was a resident of St. Simons Island, Georgia for 25 years.
Ron is survived by his wife of 39 years, Marilyn and his children, Chris Matheny (Kelly), Sacramento, Calfornia; Susan Crispen (Mel), Fort Mitchell, Kentucky; Jyllian Tricot, Columbus, Ohio; and Carol Matheny, Texarkana, Arkansas, as well as six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
As Ron was a lifelong owner of shelter dogs, his family requests any memorial contributions be made to the Humane Society of South Coastal Georgia. A celebration of Ron’s life will be held at a later date.
