Rose DeFranco

Rose DeFranco, 77, of Jekyll Island died Monday, February 25, 2013 at her home in Jekyll Island. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Friday, March 1, 2013 at St. Francis Xavier Church with Father Will Logsdon officiating. Interment will follow in Palmetto Cemetery with Joey De Franco, Anthony Brimer, Jack Smith, Daniel De Franco, Ronald Douglas, and Thomas Rhodes serving as pallbearers.

Born December 1, 1935 in New York City, New York to the late Frank and Angelina Vitale, she was a homemaker and a member of St. Francis Xavier Church. Mrs. DeFranco had been a resident of Jekyll Island for 27 years. She enjoyed spending time with family and bird watching.

Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Alfred DeFranco of Jekyll Island, 5 daughters, Christine DeFranco of St. Simons, Denise Rhodes of Coram, NY, Donna Lennon-DeFranco of Jim Thorpe, PA, Diana Brown of Lake Harmony, PA, and Victoria Izzo of Port Charlotte, FL, one son, Joseph DeFranco of Brunswick, several grandchildren including, Ashley Rhodes, Allison Rhodes and Ian Rhodes, Joshua Wesley Mohn, Mike Izzo, Brianna Izzo , Garrett Izzo, John Henry & Jesse James several great grandchildren including Autumn Kellum and several nieces and nephews including Jack and Martha Smith, and Daniel and Shannon DeFranco.
