Mrs. Duncan was born May 1, 1939 in Milford, Delaware the daughter of the late Wilson Benjamine Shockley and the late Ruth Ellen Shockley. She was a loving wife for forty-nine years to the late Earle J. Duncan Jr. She had been a resident of McIntosh County for the past twenty-four years. Before moving to McIntosh County, she and her husband owned and operated Mid State Mechanical in Dover, Delaware. Mrs. Duncan was also a previous member of the Felton Delaware Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was always willing to volunteer her time.
Left to cherish her memories are her son, Earle J. Duncan III of Darien, GA; three sisters, Mavia Todd of Seaford, DE, Betsy Holland of Hurlock, MD, and Teresa Patchett of Seaford, DE; one brother, Wilson Shockley of Champaign, IL; and her feline companion, Mrs. Kitty. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends between 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday, June 1, 2018 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. A funeral service to honor Mrs. Duncan’s life will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, June 2, 2018 in the Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Lori Lewis officiating.
Mrs. Duncan will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Her family will have many fond memories to cherish for years to come.
