

She was born on August 21, 1924 in the former Dart home on Glynn Avenue to the late Simon Hadley Brown and Ethel Dart Brown. She is preceded in death by her husband Charlie G. Ratcliffe, Sr., her son William Eddie Ratcliffe, and siblings William H. (Bill) Brown, Jane Brown Drossos, and Delia Brown Schlosser.
She is survived by her remaining son Charlie G. Ratcliffe, Jr. (Nancy) of Brunswick, grandsons Eric and Scotty Ratcliffe, granddaughter Jennifer Ratcliffe Emery (Keith) of El Dorado, Arkansas, great grandchildren Cody and Alyssa Emery, great grandchildren by marriage Will and Haley Emery. She is also survived by her brother, Bob Dart Brown, and many nieces and nephews.
Sara graduated from Glynn Academy and attended Georgia Women’s College in Milledgeville. After college she returned to Brunswick and worked as a payroll clerk at NAS Glynco. It was there that she met the love of her life and soon married her husband Charlie.
She was a life long member of Brunswick First United Methodist Church. A member of the Fellowship Class, and Keenagers. She was also a longtime member of the Brunswick Hospital Auxiliary where she volunteered for almost 50 years.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 9th at 2pm at Brunswick First United Methodist Church. Graveside service will follow at Palmetto Cemetery, Brunswick, Ga.
Pallbearers include: Will Emery, Joey Cason, James Walker, John Rivers, Kelly Lipthratt, Tom Anderson.
Honorary Pallbearers: the staff of Addington Place of Brunswick, staff of Hospice Golden Isles, and members of the Brunswick Hospital Auxiliary.
