

Mr. Cunningham was born January 20, 1951. A native of Conneaut, Ohio he had lived in Georgia for many years and was a former resident of Ohio. He was a 1969 graduate of Edgewood High School in Ashtabula, Ohio and was a self employed maintenance-contractor and a master carpenter, master furniture and refinisher maker.
Scott was involved with Men’s Christian Fellowship in building over 120 wheelchair ramps, Habitat for Humanity and helped at all fund raisers for Morgan’s Chapel United Methodist. He attended St. Cyprian’s Episcopal Church in Darien and helped with Two Saints (St. Cyprian’s Episcopal and St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church), First Presbyterian Church of Darien and Morgan’s Chapel United Methodist and was a friend to all in McIntosh County.
He loved fishing, gardening, building bird houses, and making crafts. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved the beach where he grew up at Moreland Club, Conneaut, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Earl and Jean Theresa Flesch Cunningham; an aunt, Adelaid Perkins; an uncle, Bill Flesch; paternal grandparents, Milford and Grace Cunningham; and maternal grandparents, Mathew and Lucille Flesch.
Survivors are his loving wife, Dorothy Ellen Toth Cunningham of Eulonia who he married on February 13, 2010; sister, Chris Salberg of Indiana; a brother, Tim Cunningham of North Carolina; an aunt, Sandra Flesch of Eulonia; nieces and nephews, Forrest and Becky (Howid) Cunningham, daughter-Leah; Alesia Salberg and Josh Jenkins, daughter-Annabell.
The family will receive friends at St. Cyprian’s Episcopal Church in Darien from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 8, 2012.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 9, 2012 in St. Cyprian’s Episcopal Church with The Very Rev. Ted H. Clarkson officiating.
The family request, in lieu of flowers, contributions to the food pantry at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Men’s Christian Fellowship or Habitat for Humanity.
Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, Brunswick, Georgia is in charge of local arrangements.
On Monday, February 13, visitation and prayer services starting at 11 a.m. will be held in Ohio at Pierpont Presbyterian Church followed by interment at Evergreen Cemetery in Pierpont with Pastor Phil Reinhart officiating. Childs-Williams-Ducro Funeral Home, Ashtabula, Ohio is in charge of arrangements.
