Toni was born on April 10, 1951, in Kinston, North Carolina. A longtime resident of McIntosh County, Toni worked at the beauty shop in Darien and at Strick’s Cleaners before beginning her career with Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick. She served as a switchboard operator and retired after 30 years of dedicated service.
Toni was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, known for her devotion to her family and friends. She was a member of the Darien Church of God, Golden Isles Sailing Club, Briar Dam Hunting Club, Coastal Georgia Gun Club, and the NRA. She was first married to Charles W. Stroud Jr., with whom she shared two sons, Charlie and Ashley. In 2002, she married Ronald E. Barnett, her beloved husband at the time of her passing, and together they made their home in Brunswick, Georgia.
Toni is survived by her husband, Ronald E. Barnett; her son, Charlie Stroud (Lauren); her stepson, Ronald Barnett Jr. (Beth); her sister-in-law, Sheryl Stroud Dawson (Tommy); her aunt, Marlyn Barwick and her grandchildren, Avery Stroud, Kassidy Stroud, Jennifer Jace (Devin), Brenda Messer, Michelle Barnett, Brenda Barnett.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Martin Varnell; her uncle Thomas Barwick; her son, Ashley Stroud; and her former husband, Charles W. Stroud Jr.

The family will accept visitors on Friday, January 30, 2026 from 5pm-7pm at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 11am in the Edo Miller Chapel, officiated by Rev. Whaley. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Brunswick, Georgia.
