Victor Philip Barnes

Victor Philip Barnes, 52, of Brunswick, GA. passed away on July 16, 2016 at Baptist Medical Center, Jacksonville, FL. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 20, at 9:00am in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. James Carter officiating. Interment to follow at Brunswick Memorial Park Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Sam Carter, Todd Shoemaker, Johnny Bryan, J.J. Clark, Tommy Bryan and Mike Day. Honorary pallbearers are Tommy Blount, Mickey Claxton, Jerry Claxton, Greg Claxton, and Keith Graversen.

Victor was born August 10, 1963 to Hortense C. Barnes and William Harvey Barnes. Victor was born and raised in Brunswick and he attended Glynn Academy.

Victor worked at Barnes Tire for 27 years. He attended church at The Chapel. He enjoyed racing and loved his dogs, Georgia, Mattie and Greyson. Victor will be greatly be missed by his family and friends.

Victor is survived by his parents, William Harvey and Hortense Barnes, his loving wife, Tasha Lynn Barnes, his children, Philip Barnes Jr. (Mary Graversen), Amanda B. Pierce (James), two grandchildren, Gabriel and Olivia, two brothers, Bob Barnes (Tammy) and Kendall Barnes (Vicky), and mother in law, Jean Sears all of Brunswick, GA. Many nieces, nephews and extended family also survive.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Humane Society of South Coastal Georgia, 4627 US Hwy 17, Brunswick, GA 31525.
