

Bill was born on June 7, 1960 in Atlanta, GA. After graduating from The Lovett School, he went on to complete his post-secondary education at the University of Georgia in Athens and Georgia State University in Atlanta. After graduation, Bill remained in Atlanta where he and Marianna Roberts Wilson, were married in 1985. Shortly afterwards, Bill and Marianna relocated to St. Simons Island. As an active member of St. Simons Presbyterian Church, Bill served as a Deacon. Bill was a philanthropic member of the Golden Isles community, serving as a Board Member of Speech Hearing and Rehabilitation Enterprises of Coastal Georgia (SHARE) for many years. He worked for Barnett Bank and ABC/IHS Home Healthcare and spent the last 23 years tirelessly working with The Sea Island Company even throughout his fight with cancer.
A dedicated father, Bill spent much of his 2 boys’ youth coaching their soccer and baseball teams with Glynn County Recreation Department. As an Eagle Scout himself, he was active in the Boys Scouts of America. Bill was a dedicated Bulldawg supporter and loved seeing the Braves win the 2021 World Series. In his spare time, he was an avid reader and a fan of all things “Star Wars”, “James Bond”, and other like genres.
Bill was predeceased by parents, William “Bill” Siler Elias, Sr and Jane Grumman Elias, as well as his sister, Elizabeth Elias Crafton. He is survived by wife, Marianna, his sons, William (Alana) and Wilson (Alyssa) as well as his sister, Susie Elias Rankin (Rob), brother, Tom Elias, sister-in law, Mimi Love and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be sorely missed by his best furry friend, Scrappy.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations and memorial contributions be made in Bill’s honor to the Southeast Georgia Health System Cancer Care Center at 2500 Starling Street, Suite 107, Brunswick, GA 31520; the Hospice of Golden Isles at 1692 Glynco Parkway, Brunswick, GA 31525 or Speech Hearing and Rehabilitation Enterprises of Coastal Georgia (SHARE) at 2228 Sterling Street, Brunswick, GA 31520.
The family would like to express their grateful appreciation to the many healthcare workers who contributed to Bill’s care, including but not limited to: Abraham Cheong, MD and his staff, Shelly Erdmier and all the wonderful staff of the Southeast Georgia Health System Cancer Care Center and Hospice of the Golden Isles.
There will be a Memorial Service at 3:30 PM, Thursday May 26th at St. Simons Island Presbyterian.
