William Edgar Moss

William E. Moss, 84, of St. Simons Island, formerly of McLean, VA, died Tuesday, January, 17, 2012 after a short illness. Private services will be held in the home. Interment will take place in Brunswick Memorial Park.

Born March 5, 1927 in Cullowee, NC, he was a former Merchant Marine and was a self employed developer and custom home builder in the McLean, VA area. Mr. Moss had been a resident of Glynn County for 1 ½ years. He last attended St. Simons Island Community Church. Prior to his move to St. Simons Island, Mr. Moss was an avid game hunter and a member of the Safari Club International.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Margie A. Moss of St. Simons, a sister, Ms. Mutt Morris, a sister in law, Betty Dills of Brunswick, nieces, Marilyn James of St. Simons, Elaine Leggett of Lincoln University, PA, Elizabeth Favero of Euharlee, GA, Melinda Dills of Brunswick, Julie Stewart of Ashville, NC and nephews, John Dills, Jr. of Brunswick, C. J. Morris, Jr. of Gainsville, FL, Danny Duvall of Franklin, NC several other out-of-town nieces and nephews along with several great nieces and nephews. The family requests in lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice of Golden Isles, Inc. Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
