Alfred Zimmermann passed away peacefully at the Rosedale Hospice at the age of 79 years. He is survived by his wife Sigrid and their sons Ralph (Linda), Mark (Cindy), Tom (Pam) and David (Dagmar). Alfred will also be missed by his grandchildren Megan, Ashley (Paul), Sarah, Jack, Katarina and Lukas; great-grandchildren Kira and Peyton; brother Heinz-Walter and nieces and nephews in Germany. He immigrated to Canada in 1957 and married Sigrid soon after. Alfred started his career at the Holy Cross Hospital where he helped pioneer Respiratory Therapy Services. He became the Director for several decades until his retirement. Alfred enjoyed nothing more than spending time outdoors with his sons hunting and fishing. He was an avid gardener, who was known in the neighborhood for his potatoes and cabbages. A Funeral Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Lung Association, P.O.
