Aline moved to Calgary in her early years and was employed at BP Energy Canada for all her working years as an Office Administrator, up to the time of her retirement.
She was very sophisticated and enjoyed the fine arts. Added to reading, she loved music, dancing and singing, always celebrating beauty and passion. Her best days were spent at the Calgary Opera, Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra and going to Spruce Meadows equestrian shows. Aline would complement these days with fine wines and dining, and of course she would be dressed and manicured for each occasion. Aline’s flare for sophistication never left her and even in her latest years, while confined to a nursing home she would still emphasize that her hair, face, and nails be done before any appointments.
For many years Aline would return to Thunder Bay to visit. She spent many nights at her cousin Nancy’s house with the family for dinners. Birthday celebrations for her mother were always held there. Nancy’s three sons always liked spending time with Aline and her mother and were sad to hear of her passing.
Aline had a very kind heart and was always concerned about people’s wellbeing. She would often ask, ‘how can I help’. She donated to many charities and was especially drawn to the homeless and the prevention of cruelty to animals. She was especially fascinated by the panda bears.
Aline was moved from her home to the Extendicare Hillcrest, which became her home for the last thirteen years of her life. Here Aline found much joy and comfort. She loved her home, loved her care givers, and spoke very well of the care she received at Hillcrest. Their nick name for Aline was ‘Queen Aline’
Aline and her great sense of humor will be sadly missed by her cousins, especially cousin Nancy Veneruzzo, her friends, and her extended family at Extendicare Hill Crest.
