Al was the beloved husband of Sheila Jean (nee Higgins) who survives him as do sons; Kent, Michael (Nick) and Tim (Pat): grandchildren; Michael, Aiden and Evan. Al loved his grandchildren a great deal and made their childhood very special.
Al was predeceased by his parents; Joseph and Elizabeth (nee Dewar); siblings; Elmer, Phyllis, Ed, Elsie and Goldie.
Al was born on May 17, 1937, in Ninga, Manitoba to a farming family. After high school, Al moved to Edmonton and began a long and fruitful career in the oil patch where he spent the majority of his career in drilling exploration.
Al’s love of classic cars led to him collect and sell many vintage vehicles over the years.
Al loved to drive and often took trips with his family creating fond memories for both his children and grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the medical staff who served Al for their kindness and compassion in providing care for him to the end of his life.
We are grateful for the messages and acts of love and sympathy received from family and friends.
A private family Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
