Born in Hong Kong, Amy was the eldest daughter of eight siblings and the first in her family to immigrate to Canada. Through an arranged marriage, she joined the Eng family (one of the first Chinese families to settle in Saskatchewan) where she began a new chapter filled with courage, resilience, and love.
Amy leaves behind a rich legacy of strength and devotion. She is survived by five siblings; her beloved children Jean, Judy, Don, and Dave; seven cherished grandchildren Tanner, Shaylen, Tyson, Max, Tia, Evan, and Kelly; and one precious great-grandchild, Owen, who was born earlier this year.
A true pioneer, Amy was self-taught in many areas, embracing her new life in Canada with determination. She learned English, mastered gardening, sewing, cooking, and even taught herself to drive. Her boundless curiosity and resilience were matched only by her warmth and generosity.
Amy was known for her love of travel, her social spirit, and the joy she found in spending time with friends and family. Her wisdom, laughter, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In her later years, Amy lived with Alzheimer's disease. Her family is deeply grateful to the dedicated staff and care team at Wing Kei Greenview, both in the supportive living and long-term care wings, for their compassion and care.
A celebration of Amy’s life will be held later this summer in both Calgary and Saskatoon. Details will be shared with family and friends in the coming weeks.
Amy’s life was a testament to strength, adaptability, and enduring love. She will be forever remembered in our hearts.
