Ana Luz Bonilla

Lucy passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, at the Peter Lougheed Centre on May 25, 2012 at the age of 46 years. She is lovingly remembered by her husband Ulises, son Carlos (Jennifer), daughter Ana, her sisters-in-law: Estely, Elvy, Jacqueline and Ryna, as well as brother-in-law: Oscar (Mili). She is survived by her nieces and nephews: Carlos Ricardo (Lisa), Carlos Mario (Natalie), Wendy (Ernesto), Betty (Vladimir), Ivan (Karina), Karla, Oscar, Emily, Chris, Jacqueline Marie and Eli; also her great nieces and nephew: Wendita, Ivanna, Emmy, Kyla, Gabriela, Kasandra, and Francis. She is also remembered by her family in El Salvador: her mother, Maria Teresa, sisters: Maria Teresa (Francisco) and Linda and four brothers, as well as nieces and nephews: Samuel (Sophia), Eunice, Rebekkah and Eduardo and a great-niece: Grecia. She was predeceased by her mother-in-law Maria Hernandez. Lucy was born in San Vincente, El Salvador on September 27, 1965. She met her husband Ulises in 1980 and married in 1984. They started their family at a young age with the birth of their son Carlos Ulises in 1984 and daughter Ana Jackeline in 1990. In 1992 they immigrated to Canada with much of their extended family. Lucy worked tirelessly through the years, at times holding multiple positions, to provide for her family. She was dedicated and hardworking with a desire to provide her children -the absolute loves of her life- with every opportunity possible to grow and learn. Her love, encouragement and support helped her two children successfully accomplish their dreams of graduating from University. Lucy was known for the magic she worked in the kitchen, throughout the years she enjoyed cooking up a storm for both family and friends. She laughed whole-heartedly, danced unendingly and loved with her whole heart. Chuchy, as family so lovingly called her, will forever hold a place in our hearts. We will always remember your laugh, strength and unyielding ways. We will strive to ease our sorrow with memories of your beautiful smile. May you be happy and laughing in eternal light. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at visitation held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, 2519 Edmonton Trail N.E. Calgary on Thursday, May 31, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will follow at 2:00 p.m. A Service of Burial will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W. Calgary on Friday, June 1, 2012 at 10:00 a.m., with interment at Queen’s Park Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made directly to the Tom Baker Cancer Centre.
