

November 22, 1922 – July 1, 2011
Anders Andersen Lund, born in Denmark on November 22, 1922, passed away in Calgary, Alberta on July 1, 2011 at the age of 88 years. He was the fourth child of five to parents Nielsine and Laurits Andersen Hundehave.
Andy grew up in Verninge, Denmark on the Island FYN. He became a baker by trade in the city of Odense. Andy assisted in the Danish Police Force. At the time the Germans arrested the members of the Danish Police Force, Andy was in the hospital. When he recovered, he left the hospital under a false name and then joined the Danish Freedom Fighters to the end of the war where he worked as an interpreter.
In 1948 Andy immigrated to Canada and his first job was working on farms in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He decided to enroll in university and graduated from the University of Saskatoon with a degree in engineering. He took a job working in the forestry and ended up working as a cook in the work camps. Later he moved to Calgary and was employed by Atco Gas Company until his retirement. Andy enjoyed nature, fishing, the city of Calgary and his adopted country Canada.
Andy is survived by his family in Denmark; Wilhelm Lundehave with five children – Ulla Hvidholm Lundehave, Jan Hvidholm Lundehave, Steffen Hvidholm Lundehave, Michael Hvidholm Lundehave and Susan Hvidholm Lundehave Kristensen.
A Celebration of Andy’s Life was held at South Calgary Funeral Centre, 12700 Macleod Trail South, Calgary on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. A reception will be held at 4:00 p.m. at the Danish Canadian Club, 727 – 11 Avenue SW, Calgary. Andy’s final resting place will be with his parents in Denmark.
