She was born to Rosa and Luigi Cristofari in a little town called Santa Croce, Teramo on March 7, 1935. She was very tiny and weighed only as much as two bricks of butter. She was very loved by her family.
As a young adult, she met Mario D’Orazio in Rome where she worked. The courtship began over a little suitcase he had borrowed from her through his sister, who was friends with Angelina. He asked her to marry him after three months and together they had two children, Marina and Mauro. They immigrated to Canada on March 30th, 1974 and began to build their lives in Calgary, Alberta. Nonna Angelina worked in hotels and they eventually managed their own restaurant called Mario’s for several years. After the restaurant closed and Nonno and Nonna retired, they stayed home and spent time helping to raise their grandchildren and develop their own hobbies. Nonna was an avid gardener, she was gifted at playing Briscola and she was an amazing baker and cook. We were always comforted by Nonna’s cooking. She was so giving, nurturing, and always had hugs to give.
She is survived by her husband Mario of 61 years and their children Marina and Mauro, and spouses Antonio and Anne. She has seven grandchildren: Elena, Angela, Laura, Francesco, Linnea, Edana, and Nathaniel.
We will miss you always dear Angelina. May you Rest In Peace in God‘s loving arms.
Until we meet again our little Princess.
