Anna Kocur passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Monday, December 28, 2015 at the age of 93 years. She was born in a small village in Poland to Thomas and Anna Derren. After the war she immigrated to Canada alone. Anna met her husband Walter Kocur, and the pair resided in Exshaw, AB with their two daughters Wanda and Clara. Her faith gave her strength and she enjoyed life, family, friends and gardening. She took pride in being a chambermaid in Banff for many years. Anna will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters Wanda (Dwayne) Kennedy and Clara (Barrie) Wright, grandchildren and many close relatives. She is also survived by the Ciunczyk family, the Kuldanek family, the Kot family, Church friends, and her favorite Coffee friends at the Brentwood Harvey’s. Anna is predeceased by her husband Walter, brother Metic and sister Wanda in Poland. We would like to thank Paul Wright and staff of Unit 58 for all their love and support; as well as Dr. S. Naidoo, Dr. B. Hunter and staff of Unit 81 Foothills Hospital for their compassion and excellent care. A Prayer Service will be held at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, 1566 Northmount Dr. N.W., Calgary, AB on Friday, January 1, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Luke’s Catholic Church on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to the Salvation Army, 420 9 Ave S.E., Calgary, AB.
