My condolences to you with the passing of your Mom. Your Mom and my Dad...Detmer Detmers were cousins. It was your grandfather Ralph Lantinga that came to this country in the early 1900,s that talked my grandfather (and namesake) into purchasing land here in 1909. My parents moved here in 1953 and I remember sitting on your grandfather's knee and asking him why he was so wrinkled. He said it was because he was very old.

Your grandparents were part of the start of this country here in southern Alberta. I have met some of your uncles and aunts over the years when they stopped in to visit my folks. If your grandfather had not come to this country.....I probably would not be farming here now! There were three Lantinga brothers here at one time....Ralph, Geert and Albert. Geert's youngest daughter is still alive....Minnie Veenland of Granum, Alberta. Some of her children still live in the area as well.
Once again, our condolences as the generational torch is passed on.

Hi Ron and Greg
Thanks so much for posting Anne's obituary in the paper down here,as she is the last of "the old gang" and we wouldn't have know of her passing. It is such a sadness we feel when we lose a parent, but also a blessing that we know they will no longer hurt and finally will be at rest.  Your Mom and Dad have always had a special place in my heart because we had many fun times as kids, when our parents got together, whether at the golf course, or a house party or skating or in a swimming pool.  Val and I often remember back to those days, and hopefully you two will think back on them and smile.  It is such a sad thing that now all of our parents have passed and we will lose all contact with each other, so let me say thanks for all the memories and I hope you both lead long and adventure filled lives and make more memories to be enjoyed by your families and friends. Don't grieve too long because you know your Mom (and Dad) would want you to 
" pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start all over again!"! Ah yes, all those sing songs too ... see, once you start thinking about it, you will have lots to smile about!  Be Safe

Dear Ron and Greg:  Cory passed onto me that your Mom has passed away and I wish to offer my condolences.  I remember the fun your Mom, my sister Amy, and I had when we lived in Calgary.  Those were fun times.  It is sad to lose a Mother and I know that you will miss her very much.

I am saddened to hear of the passing of Anne.  My Mom, Amy,  passed in 2009 and it is a great loss to lose your Mother.  It is sad that our Mom's became estranged over the years, but I have often thought of Anne.  My deepest condolences go out to both of you.
