Antony was born in Hong Kong on August 28, 1959. He was the fifth child and third eldest brother of seven siblings. He was known for being clever and caring, and those who knew him best knew he was a total goof with a heart of gold. Eva, family, sleep, and food were Antony’s true loves in life. After losing both his parents at a young age, Antony was raised primarily by his grandmother. Antony met the love of his life at the age of 16 and after 10 wonderful years, Eva and Antony got married August 31, 1984.
Antony plied his trade as a meat butcher by helping out at his aunt’s meat shop. After a few years of hard work, he moved on to become a taxi driver which led to an opportunity to become a sales manager at his cousin’s printing company. After having two sons, Justin in 1988 and Grant in 1992, Antony made the difficult decision to stay behind in Hong Kong in 1996 to financially support Eva and his sons in Canada for one year. After moving to Canada, Antony quickly found a job as a dishwasher at Capri Steakhouse until he was able to utilize his experience as a butcher and sales manager to land a position in the meat department at T&T Supermarket in 1999. There, he worked and rose through the system to become the head of the meat department.
Some of the highlights of his life were the many vacations he took with Eva, his family, and extended family throughout the years. He travelled to Thailand, Korea and Japan, across Canada, on cruise ships, took a three-week tour of Europe, went to Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, the USA and, of course, took trips home to Hong Kong. In his spare time, Antony loved watching horse races and sharing meals with his family. Antony was a good husband, good brother, and a good father and grandfather. He was very knowledgeable, a good teacher, and he offered sage advice to those he cared about. A man who loved his wife and family above all else, Antony felt incredibly fortunate to see both Justin and Grant marry wonderful women and he was overjoyed to become a grandparent.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Eva, sons Justin and Grant, his daughters-in-law Carrie and Maggie, and granddaughter Juniper.
