

Arden is survived by his loving wife, Wanda Melsness; his four children, Robert (Brandy), Hollyann (Louie), Saphron, and Arthur. Arden had five grandchildren, Myles, Steven, Nicole, Arden, and Kalifornia and two great grandchildren, Isabella and Jared. He is also survived by his brother, Neal (Joy); nephews Brian (Andrea), Paul (Vivian), and Ian (Sandra); sister, Merle (Gord); nieces, JoAnna (Matthew), Vicki (Todd), and Kim; sister, Carol (Cliff); nieces, Brandi (Kevin) and Kellie; great nieces and nephews, Billy, Nathan, Joshua and Samantha, Clara and Sophie Giada and Rylea, and Marijke and Sasha Carston and Cormick. He was predeceased by his father and mother, Noel and Myrtle Melsness. Arden was born in Preeceville, SK on April 27, 1938. He moved to Calgary, AB at a young age, where his father and mother owned a corner grocery and hardware store. Arden attended King Edward School. Upon graduation from grade 12, he worked a few different jobs and subsequently went on to join the police force. Arden married Wanda Patricia Fralick on October 16, 1982. Wanda had two children, Hollyann and Robert, and together they adopted three other children: James, Arthur, and Saphron. Arden was an extraordinarily understanding, kind, caring and thoughtful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and son. He will be missed in all of our hearts.
A Memorial Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service.
