It is with great sadness that we announce Art's passing on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 in Calgary, AB. Art will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his wife Rose; children Darren, Kim (Nick) and Karen and his grandchildren Justin, Ryan, Matt and Cole. He is also survived by his sister Gwen and many nieces and nephews. Art was predeceased by his parents, Agnes and Alway; sister Marie; brother Ray and recently by his son David. He worked at Canada Safeway and Beaver Lumber for many years. Art enjoyed playing golf and pool in his younger days. He especially enjoyed camping with his family at Fairmont Hot Springs. Later in life, Art and Rose enjoyed several winters in Florida. A Celebration of Art's Life will be held at FOSTER'S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 - 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen's Park Cemetery) on Friday, May 24, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Art's family would like to thank the wonderful staff of the ICU Department at the Foothills Hospital. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to Calgary Health Trust, ICU Unit of Foothills Hospital, 800 - 11012 Macleod Trail S.E., Calgary, AB T2J 6A5.
