Audrey was born on August 27, 1934, in Edinburgh, Scotland, first daughter of James and Christina Leitch. Later her brother and sister were born, Robert (Bobbie) and Christine, who have preceded her in death.
After meeting at the Palais de Danse in Edinburgh and becoming engaged, she married the love of her life, James Keenan, in 1956. Together, they shared 69 wonderful years, building a home filled with warmth, laughter, and enduring love.
Audrey and James moved to Calgary, Alberta, Canada with their family in 1968.
Audrey proudly spent most of her life as a homemaker.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Audrey is survived by her husband, James, two daughters, Fiona (Gary) and Ruth (Jeff) who carry forward her strength, kindness, and gentle spirit.
She is also survived by eight beloved grandchildren, who brought her immense joy – Alisha (Chris), Kirsty (Brian), Jenn, Kelsey, Scott, Iain (Milena), and Kaileah – and thirteen cherished great-grandchildren: Keenan, Ryan, Ewan, Audrey, Stefan, Charlie, Emmerson, Oliver, Joel, Lorelei, Isla, Ashton, and Leeland.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Niven, and cherished grandson, Andrew, whose memories she held close to her heart every day.
She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
A Memorial Gathering will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. with tributes at 2:00 p.m.
