Born on August 31, 1938, in Hepburn, Saskatchewan, to Frank and Susan Geransky, Bernice grew up with the values of the family farm. As a young woman, she moved to Saskatoon to work at the historic Bessborough Hotel. It was shortly after this that she met Robert; the two moved to Calgary and married on August 17, 1962.
A dedicated worker, Bernice spent many years at Nortel until her retirement at age 65.
She was a devoted mother to her two sons, Calvin and Robert.
Bernice was one of a family of 13 brothers and sisters. She was predeceased by her siblings Elmer, Lil, Edd, and Harvey. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert John Slimmon.
A Funeral Service will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 - 4 St NW, Calgary, Alberta on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Viewing will precede the Service, with Interment to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery, 3219 - 4 Street N.W.
