Brian was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to Helen and Paul Greva. He spent most of his life in Calgary, Alberta as an employee for the City of Calgary. He was married for over 30 years to Carol Ivan (Greva).
His life is a testament to strength, overcoming obstacles, and staying positive in the face of adversity.
At 20 years old he was diagnosed with cancer, but was able to overcome it by being in a trial to test a new procedure: chemotherapy. While the chemotherapy was successful in beating the cancer, it did leave lifelong complications. In spite of this Brian enjoyed life to fullest and always had a joke to tell. Asking if he needed anything would almost certainly end with "millions of dollars if you have that".
Brian enjoyed playing all sports throughout his adult life and was especially fond of his two cats, Cara and Mo in the later part of life.
He is survived by his son; Garett Greva, his daughter; Breana Muska-Gray, and granddaughter; Orianna Muska-Gray.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 pm on March 21, 2026 at South Calgary Funeral Centre (12700 Macleod Trail S).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Terry Fox Foundation, an organization dedicated to cancer research.
