He was born on September 16, 1928, in Reischewo, Poland, to Adam and Augusta Kerber. During WWII, his family fled to West Germany and then immigrated to Canada in 1951. After working in Raymond, Alberta on a sugar beet farm, Bruno’s family settled in Calgary, where Bruno lived his remaining years.
After marrying Anela Fech in 1958, he had two children. Bruno worked for Maple Leaf Mills for 27 years as a foreman. Alongside this work, he nurtured his passion for building custom homes, founding Northhouse Construction Ltd., crafting high-quality homes. Construction was not just a career for him - it was a calling.
Bruno and Anela enjoyed travelling together, including a number of Mission trips to Brazil to build churches - work that Bruno found deeply meaningful. His strong work ethic, steadfast Christian values, love for his family and church were central to his life.
Bruno was predeceased by his parents Adam and Augusta and siblings Lucy, Walter, Art and Reinhard. He is survived by his wife Anela; children Dennis (Sylvia) Kerber and Lorelei (Cam) Kesteven; grandchildren Brendon (Kathryn), Joel and Ben Kerber, and Blair (Lauren), Jared (Erin), Torey (Arley) and Evangeline (Linden) Kesteven, and great grandchildren Elias, Rebekah, and Silas.
Thanks to the Sage Hill Garden staff for the care they provided Bruno and the kindness they showed him and the family. He will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. Rest in peace, Dad/Opa - until we meet again.
