Dagmar's journey ended on Saturday, February 11, 2017. All those who knew her will sorely miss her company, boundless energy, and fabulous spirit. She lived life with a philosophy and belief that all life's problems must be solved by looking to the future. She treated each problem encountered as simply another fork in the road. In 2010, when told she had a stage 4 metastatic cancer, she quietly underwent three surgeries and a course of chemotherapy and, when asked, signed on to the ATP Board as a Director. During her four years with ATP she and her husband, Robert, completed ten trips to Europe including five river cruises. In the end, after more than 100 chemotherapy treatments, the cancer finally wore her down and she passed away quietly on Saturday. She was predeceased by her parents Richard and Thea Graham. Dagmar is survived by her husband of 35 years, Robert Allan, her brother-in-law Mark Allan and his wife Myra, and family in Berching, Germany. As a tribute to the wonderful people who accompanied Dagmar on this journey including Dr. Jacob Easaw, Dr. Rebecca Wiens, Dr. Gloria RoldanUrgoitti, Sally Lim, and the incredible nurses in the Chemotherapy Day Care, donations may be made directly to the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, 1331 - 29 St NW, Calgary, AB. A Memorial Gathering will be held at Valley Ridge Golf Club, 11618 Valley Ridge Park NW, Calgary, AB on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via the website www.fostersgardenchapel.ca.
