Dave was an adored father, a beloved son, a devoted friend, and a kind-hearted individual whose warmth, humor, and generosity touched the lives of all who knew him. Dave had a playful, understanding and adventurous spirit.
He absolutely adored his daughter Kara and gave her memories that will always be treasured. He created custom scavenger hunts for Kara, but true to his spirit, would forget where he hid the items. Prior to cell phones, he implemented using walkie talkies to contact and talk to Kara. Thinking he was always a forever teenager; Dave would try and outperform Kara on the diving board but unfortunately his back flips never ended well. He constantly created obstacle courses for Kara, using ropes and other items, however, local wildlife (i.e. the foxes) would borrow or steal the ropes. His love for her was limitless.
While Dave was living outside, he found Jenn, or maybe Jenn found him. From there, the “My Friend Dave Project” was born. Dave was not just a business partner, but a best friend to Jenn. He welcomed everyone into this new community with an open heart and a warm hug. This project gave him a new purpose, and his legacy will live on through it.
This project has grown so quickly because of Dave. He handed out 500+ business cards, spoke to every person he met on the street, and always welcomed them into the Monday hangouts with arms wide open. His ability to love fully and unapologetically was healing. He would make a point to say hello to every person that walked past him because “you never know who needs one hello”.
Dave will be remembered for his deep compassion, his sharp wit, and his quiet strength.
He had a special way of making lasting connections, and his passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of many.
Dave is survived by his loving family and a wide circle of friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him.
