David Lloyd George Potter passed away Monday, October 3, 2011 at age 92 years, after a brief illness. He was born on November 19, 1918 near Bowden, Alberta and served overseas in the Second World War as a medic. In 1951, David married Augusta Verhoeff who he had met in Holland during the war. He was a devout Christian, devoted husband and father, and a kind and generous man who acted with the utmost integrity in all aspects of his life. David is survived by daughter Mariane (Terry); sons Leonard (Carolyn), Alfred (Mary), and Anthony (Jo-Ann); four grandchildren, Chad, Christina, Daniel and Lianda. He was predeceased by Augusta on February 2, 1995. David will be fondly remembered and sadly missed. A Memorial Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Friday, October 7, 2011 at 3:30p.m. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to The Salvation Army, 822, 420 – 9 Avenue S.E., Calgary, AB T2G 0R9.
