Dianne Estelle Barkley passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family and special caregiver, Pat Green, in Calgary, AB on Monday December 14, 2015 at the age of 70 years. Dianne spent her younger years on the family farm in Balzac, AB. She enjoyed a lengthy career at the University of Calgary Library. She resided at the Dr. Vernon Fanning Centre since 2011. Dianne is survived by her sons Harold (Ginger) Andersen and Barkley (Sally) Andersen; grandchildren Thomas, Juliet and Nash; brothers Ed (Barb) Barkley and Earle Barkley of Airdrie, AB as well as by her sister Donna (Stan) Bittorf of Crossfield, AB. Dianne will also be remembered by her nieces, nephew, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Harold and Stella, her husband Ole Andersen in 2005 and her brother Irwin Barkley in 2014. A Memorial Gathering will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Sunday, December 20, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via the website www.fostersgardenchapel.ca.
