Doreen was born in Glasgow, Scotland on April 24, 1944 and came to Canada at the age of 14, after the passing of her mother Ethel, with her father James Marshall and her older brother Jim.
She moved to Calgary with her husband and son in 1969 where they welcomed the birth of their daughter, Michelle in 1972.
Doreen made friends easily and as a licensed hairdresser many of her customers became life-long friends. Neighbours often became friends for life, some for over 50 years.
She is survived by her husband Paul of 55 years; son Mark; daughter Michelle; and granddaughter Rowan.
