It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy Lamont. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She left us peacefully on February 9th 2025, at the age of 94.
Dorothy was born on August 1, 1930 in Meadow Lake Saskatchewan, and she lived a life full of love and kindness.
Dorothy was a cherished mother, survived by her six devoted sons; Glen, Gerry, Dale, Bruce, Stewart and Raymond. Also her brother Dale Patterson, living in British Columbia. She took immense pride in her role as a mother, instilling in her children the values of compassion, resilience and hard work. Her legacy lives through her 13 grandchildren, who were the light of her life and whom she adored deeply.
Predeceased by her loving husband; William (Bill) Lamont, Dorothy’s heart was forever intertwined with his. Together, they shared a beautiful life filled with laughter, love and countless memories that will be treasured by their family.
Dorothy was known for her warm smile, and her ability to bring people together. Her home was a gathering place with everyone always welcome and the joy of shared stories.
In addition to her family, Dorothy was an active member of her community, contributing her time and talents to managing the Calgary Herald Depo in the late 70’s. Her kindness and generosity touched many lives of many, leaving a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to know her.
Dorothy’s spirit will be forever cherished by her sons, grandchildren, extended family and friends. A Celebration of Her Life will be held at a later date in Calgary, where family and friends are invited to share their memories and honor her legacy.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Epilepsy Association of Calgary, in Dorothy’s memory, as a way to continue her spirit of giving.
Dorothy Lamont will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her love and warmth will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew her.
