At 7:30 p.m., Edith passed into the presence of her Lord. She will be lovingly remembered by her four sons; Ray (Elaine), Garry (Lorraine), Brian (Linda), and Glen (Valerie). She had ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sister Shirley Lambkin. Edith was predeceased by her first husband, Benno Friesen, her second husband, Murray Williams, brother Louis Wight and her parents, Harry and Gladys Wight. Edith was a long-time member of the First Evangelical Free Church in Calgary, and always involved in leadership with the Ladies' Missionary Group. As a widow, she travelled the world, participating in five major overseas vacation trips and numerous smaller jaunts and cruises. In her later years, she filled her time with sewing, knitting, crocheting, and quilting. She had friends around the world who kept in contact with her, some going back 75 years. A Funeral service for Edith will be held at Foster's Garden Chapel at 3220-4th Street NW Calgary (Across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 16, 2015, with interment to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wycliffe Bible Translators 4316-10 Street NE Calgary, Alberta T2E 6K3.
