Edward Schimp passed away peacefully at the Leisure Way Group Home, Medicine Hat, AB on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at the age of 91 years. He was born in Estuary, Saskatchewan. Edward served in WWII. He worked for many years at Alberta White Trucks in Calgary, AB. He is lovingly remembered by his two sisters, Bertha Schimpf and Vivian Glesman (Elmer); brother Wilbert; sister-in-law Hilda; nieces and nephews Dwight (Laurie Ann), Larry, Elaine Hausauer (Dale), Kevin (Natalie), Lance (Patti) as well as numerous great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Edward was predeceased by his beloved wife, Esther, in 2012; parents Alexander and Katherine, and brother Harold. A Funeral Service will be held at the Bridgeland Campus of Centre Street Church, 235 – 8A Street N.E., Calgary, AB on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Bridgeland Campus of Centre Street Church. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via the website www.fostersgardenchapel.ca.
