Eileen came from London to Calgary in 1970, met her husband Robert in 1971, worked as a legal secretary until the early 90's, then retired to enjoy life as best as possible. Eileen had three bouts of cancer: thyroid in 1972, right breast in 2005, and then left breast starting in May 2013 that eventually "done her in". Eileen's special smile in the attached picture attests to her passion...horses, horses, horses...Chili and Dakota, her two current favourites, are crying today. All humans whom she touched will miss her deeply, but in particular: Her husband Robert, daughter Victoria (Daniel), son Paul (Kathryn), sister Kay, granddaughter Rowan, and brother and sister David and Pat in England. Special thanks go out to her caregivers, especially those at the Tom Baker: Patricia Tang and Tracey Huizer, and at Palliative home care: Greg Liew. We cannot thank our family doctor enough, Dr. Mark Joyce, for his wonderful care and for lending his influence to get Eileen the best and most timely treatment. In lieu of flowers or donations, all who Eileen touched are asked to pay it forward: in her name, do a random act of kindness this week...and don't tell anybody else. The wake will be announced in due course. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via the website www.fostersgardenchapel.ca.
