She was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to Dr. Keber and Isobel Lindsay on December 19, 1940. She was the youngest of 5 children and attended school in Saskatoon, obtaining her BSN at Saskatoon City Hospital.
Ann is predeceased by the love of her life, her husband Patrick Malcolmson, her siblings Janet Mills, Gordon Lindsay and David Lindsay, and her son-in-law Cliff Host. She is also survived by 3 bonus sons Pat (Sylvia) Malcolmson, Bruce (Marianne) Malcolmson and David (Debbie) Malcolmson, as well as 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and her sister Kaireen Bartlett.
Ann built a wonderful life with her husband Pat. Together they had the incredible opportunity to live in Saudi Arabia for 10 years and enjoyed many adventures travelling the world, always living life to the fullest and making wonderful memories. Once grandchildren began to arrive, they decided to return to Calgary to enjoy their growing family as it was the most important thing to Ann.
Ann’s caring personality and desire to look after others lead to a fulfilling career in patient care. She was often the face that people would come to see to brighten their day. Ann enjoyed hosting as many people as she could for holidays, BBQs and epic water fights. Ann was known for her warm smile and compassion for everyone. She loved all animals and knew the names of all dogs in their neighborhood. Ann, true to her giving nature volunteered with many organizations such as the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Big Brother’s and Sister’s and the Canadian Cancer Society, she especially loved cheering on the Run for the Cure from their front lawn which was always decorated for the occasion.
The family would like to thank the staff at AgeCare Walden Heights where she lived for 9 years for their exceptional care and support.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
A memorial service will be held at South Calgary Funeral Center and Crematorium on September 1, 2023 at 2:00pm.
