Eva was born in High River and grew up on her family’s farm outside of Mossleigh, Alberta. In the early 1960s she moved with her husband, Frank, to Calgary. Although she remained in Calgary for the rest of her life, her first love was the farm where she spent weekends as often as she could. She was a lifelong crafter, her passions included knitting, crocheting, sewing and painting. Eva was a generous person and could often be found shopping for something she thought someone might need. The family always said if you were looking for something, ask Eva – she knew where you could find it.
Eva is survived by her sons Frank and Jim, both of Calgary; her daughter Hazel Backs of High Prairie; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and even two great-great-grandchildren. Eva was predeceased by her husband, Frank (1976) and her daughter Mary Ellen Beugin (2005).
The family would like to thank all the caregivers and staff at Mount Royal Care Centre for the loving care they gave Eva in the last years.
