Obituario de Gary Robert Gillespie
EN EL CUIDADO DE

South Calgary Funeral Centre and Crematorium

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gary (Pappy) Robert Gillespie, 68, from Calgary Alberta, and formerly from Renous, New Brunswick, who passed away surrounded by his loved ones in Calgary on April 19, 2024 after a brief illness.

He is survived but his partner Ica Kazamer, his daughter Kristy Bond (Joel) of Calgary, step son Janos Kazamer of Miramichi, his mother Annie Gillespie (Terry) from Renous, sisters; Debbie Manderville (Roger) from Renous, and Corinne Gillespie from Miramichi, brothers; Alphonse (Paula) from Renous, Brian (Brenda) from Warwick Road, and Sidney (Judy) from Renous and his sister and brothers-in-law; Gizella Kazamer Ward (Stephen) of Miramichi, Csaba Kazamer (Tanya) of Miramichi, and Tibor Kazamer (Julie) of Whitecourt, AB. He has 3 grandchildren; Reina Bond and Bobby Bond of Calgary and Emmanuel Kazamer from Miramichi and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his father, Robert (Bobby) Gillespie and his son, Cody Gillespie.

Gary was born on May 6, 1955 in Renous, NB to Annie and Robert (Bobby) Gillespie. He was a talented carpenter and a gifted guitar player. He loved to have a good time and would always crack a joke to make you laugh. He spent a lot of his free time playing washer toss with friends, singing and playing the guitar, walking down 17th Ave to take in the sights, (and making friends with numerous people along the way) taking long drives with Ica, and visiting with his grandchildren. Gary moved to Alberta in 2006. In that time he and Ica welcomed a number of different people from all over the world to stay with them in their home and in a neighbourhood coined, ‘The Village’. Those once strangers all became lifelong friends. Gary made friends easily, which is why his death is being felt by so many. While part of his heart was always in Renous with his family, he absolutely loved Calgary, and would remind you often of how great it was to live there.

Gary will be missed dearly.

At the request of Gary, there will be no funeral service. A celebration of life will follow at a later date in Calgary, AB and Renous NB.

Messages of condolences can be made directly to the family or through the funeral home website.
