Was just thinking g of mrs klaus the other day.  One of the many women of WWII that had her world torn apart and survived. RIP

Our family are so sorry to learn of the passing of a wonderful mother, wife and Rosemont neighbour. 
We have many lovely memories of a very strong lady who endured so much in her lifetime.

Dear Deb,
I am so sorry to hear of mom’s passing. I’ll miss our rendezvous in the park and her sharp witted comments on our various group’s antics. She was as tough as they come and overcame unbelievable hardships to forge a new life in Calgary. Your unwavering devotion to her in her later years is certainly a testament to the love you two shared. Please drop in for a walk with us in the park when ever you need to feel your mother’s spirit in our beautiful Confederation park 

So sorry for your loss Debora. She was a great woman and will be missed by many.

I have spent the last year meeting and talking to Gertrude, the most charming 96-year-old woman I have ever met.  She was cheerful, and her story was long and admirable, but at the same time, her time flew by -as she said-.  Every Tuesday, I will miss the warm chat with her.  Deborah, your dedication to your mother, was admirable; she appreciated it so much.  I have you in my thoughts; May Gertrude has had a lovely trip back home.

Dear Debora,
 We are so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. We always enjoyed talking with your mom and were so happy that she kept in touch with our mom Hertha Schmidt. My mom will miss her phone calls from Gertrud. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

She was an amazing, strong, and kind woman. She will be greatly missed by myself and all the kids she has watched grow up from her window. Sending lots of love to the family.

I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Gertrud twice in Confederation park while Debora was going for a walk with her .   Once I sat with them and I found Gertrud to be such a lovely kind intelligent woman who reminded me of my own precious Mom who had already passed …. She was from Hungary so both Eastern European strong women …. very straight forward ..

Gertrud Klaus was such a sweet and lovely woman who was good friends with my mom, who passed away in May of this year. She sat behind my parents with her daughter Debora, for many years while my parents attended the church. She was always smiling and happy and ready with a hug and a kiss on the cheek. She will be much missed. My deepest condolences go out to Debora. I know what you are going through right now.
