Gladys passed away peacefully at the McKenzie Towne Care Centre on Sunday, September 26, 2010 at the age of 79 years. Gladys was born and raised in Calgary. She worked for AGT (Telus) for twenty-three years and retired in 1974. Gladys enjoyed traveling and went on over a dozen cruises. When not traveling, she enjoyed working in the garden and doing needle point. Gladys was also a lifetime member of The Cathedral Church Of The Redeemer. Gladys is lovingly remembered by her husband, Bill of thirty-seven years; brothers William (Shirley) of Regina and Gordon of Calgary; sister Shirley (David) of Lethbridge and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Madeline of Calgary. Gladys was predeceased by her parents and sister-in-law Norah. Those wishing to pay their respects did so at a visitation held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Sunday, October 3, 2010 from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. A Funeral Service was held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, on Monday, October 4, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 200, 119 – 14 Street N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 1Z6 or Canadian Diabetes Association, 204, 2323 – 32 Avenue N.E., Calgary, AB T2E 6Z3. A special thanks to all the staff and doctors of McKenzie Towne Care Centre for the excellent care they gave to Gladys.
