Grace was a loving, devoted mother who cherished every moment together with her family. Her unconditional love, encouragement, and ability to bring people together touched the hearts of everyone she knew. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and acquaintances who will forever hold her close in their hearts.
Throughout Grace’s life, she nourished the souls of everyone she came across with her pure selflessness, compassion and unmatched generosity. She will be remembered for her calming demeanor, graceful simplicity and her unmatched cooking, baking and shopping skills.
Born on July 14, 1967 and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Grace grew up helping out at the family restaurant while attending the University of Calgary and achieving a Degree in Education to become a teacher. She went on to work at TD Bank for ten years and eventually found her dream job in the non-profit sector working with Calgary Foundation, where she contributed towards making a positive impact in her community every single day.
With tremendous strength and courage, Grace bravely battled against liver cancer and was surrounded by her husband, daughter, and son in the hospital.
Grace is survived by her loving husband Rob Chiu, her daughter Taylor Chiu and her son Cole Chiu. She will be deeply missed by sisters Shirley Lowe and Janice O’Shea (Chuck), brothers Calvin Lowe (Amber), Brian Lowe (Kelli) and parents Peter and Sylvia Lowe. Grace is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Family, friends and anyone wishing to pay their respects to Grace Chiu may attend her Celebration of Life at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 4 St N.W., Calgary, Alberta, on Wednesday, May 1st, 2024 at 2:00 p.m.
Interment to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
