My condolences again Lory, Rudy will be greatly missed, but I know he's with mom and dad again.

Uncle Rudy was a big part of our lives growing up. He had so many gifts to share. He was a wonderful uncle, friend
and neighbor.

I met Rudy at the Calgary Archery centre in 1987.We hit it off right away like we were long lost friends.I can remember when i took my quad out too sundre and helped him plow the road into his cabin,our walks with Slim and Franky in Fish Creek Park,when he brought over his tools and help me install some crown moulding,our long detailed talks about hunting ,the day Rudy took me down too the Porkys as he used too call it,which was the Porcupine Hills south of Calgary where he used too hunt elk,his face always lit up when he saw me,even on my last visit that i had with him.He always aked how my Dad was and Uncle Rich were doing!He always made my day.He always called me the great white hunter ,i guess that was his  way of telling  me he was proud of me.Rudy always made me feel like i was one of his own children.I miss you my friend.We will talk again ,until then rest in peace.

I have fond memories of Uncle Rudy.  I remember going over to Rudy and Lori's to avoid doing dishes  as a kid , and enjoyed their company.  Our deepest sympathies.  Jocelyne and Scott

 I am the son of one of his best friends of his youth in Karlsruhe,Germany .
My name is Martin Eberhardt ,my Father´s name was Rolf Eberhardt .He had died in 1982, Juli 4th.
He and Gunter were very close Friends when they were young .Gunter had moved from Germany to Canada in the early Fifties of the last century .My father also wanted to move to Canada ,but unfortunately the thing didn`t work and he had to stay in Germany .
They hadn`t seen each other for years and years ,when Gunter made a visit in Germany in 1982 and also met my father .He was so happy to meet him.They sat together for some hours and talked and nobody thought that my father would die some days later .O.k.,he had been sick for long years, but not deadly.
So ,Gunter said good-Bye and some days later ,as far as I remember about 7 or 10 days ,my father didn´t feel well, had to go to hospital and passed away soon.Later my mother said,he had felt that he must die and just waited to see his good old friend from their days of youth .
Gunter and I had a very good contact by E-Mail for the last years and I´m very sad about what had happened .
I think of his wife,his daughters and his granddaughter .

I am so sorry to hear of Rudy's passing, my condolences to you Lory, Cindy and Sharon.  
I only met Rudy on a few occasions but have actually known him all my life.  I grew up knowing Rudy through the memories that were shared with me by my father who always had a Great Rudy Witt story that usually had something to do with hunting or fishing.  The funniest one however was shortly after my Dad came to Canada, (Moosejaw, SK), he did not know how to speak English but Rudy did.  My dad needed a haircut just a trim.  So he says to Rudy “how do I tell the barber in English that I want just a trim”.   Rudy tells him all you have to say is “Brush cut” so Dad is off to the Barber practicing his new word brush cut, brush cut, brush cut, goes in,  sits in the chair and only says “brush cut”.   The barber then razors off all of dads wavy blonde hair and as dad was leaving the barber says “see you later” in German.     
My father passed in 1996 but the stories of their great friendship lives on through my mother who was just talking about him just last week, my siblings, myself and even our kids who have heard all the Great “Rudy Witt” stories over the past 50+ years.  He was always referred to as “Rudy Witt” because these two friends also shared the same name.
Rudy's passing is a sad loss and I am glad that my family was blessed to have known him.
