Dear Gail,

I heard from Andrea of the passing of your dear Dad Hector.  My mother and father in law (Alice and Jovit Pinto) were friends with your parents and when my MIL died in Dec2017 we made a trip to Calgary to visit some of their old friends, including your Dad. I knew your parents and would see them at Church. My Mum and Dad were Frank and Tia Francis (both deceased).  We arrived at your Dad’s  place and  your Dad remembered me! We left Jovit and your Dad to their visit and went to the Mall.  We returned to their having had a few scotches and we stayed on and chatted. It was a lovely visit, your Dad  shared his job experiences with us and reminisced. Here is a photo of that visit [Lynn (me), Jovit, my kids Matthew and Michael].  After that visit we exchanged Christmas cards and I received his emails 😊 
Jovit died this past November at 96. They were a few months apart in age. 
My deepest condolences to you, Gail. In meeting Hector again after so many years it was clear to us he was enjoying life and his condo community. May he rest in Peace.

It was sad to hear about Hector.  Lorna & Boni Rodrigues were thrilled to travel to Australia and India with Hector & Biddy. Hector always has an infectious smile. He is greatly missed. Our thoughts & prayers are with Gail, Kendra, Tyler and their families. A great loss for our community

We were extremely saddened to hear the news of Hector passing away. Hector and Bridget will be fondly remembered as one of the first families from Mumbai, who were here in Canada, living on the west island of Montreal, some sixty plus years ago. Hector’s oldest brother Doctor Valles, Marie Valles and family were also there.  Hector and Biddy were part of that small group of families that included my parents Marcus and Zita. We would get together fairly often for dinner parties. Every year we would  celebrate  Bandra Feast with  Mass at the Oratory followed by a big breakfast. On occasion we went  on camping trips across the border to Vermont. We also had memorable times trying to learn to skate for the first time, on an ice rink we made in our back yard. Hector was game for anything and everything!
We wish to express our sincerest condolences to you once again Gail and the rest of your family. Your Dad has certainly left us all with fond memories. May he rest in peace.

 We have fond memories of your Mum and Dad's parties in Montreal 
with the music and excellent food.  He is now with your Mum, partying in heaven with all the old Can-orient friends and looking after your family from up above.

So sorry to hear that My brother -in-law HECTOR  has left this earthly place BUT happy that HE is in his glory now celebrating in heaven. Hector actually gave me away at my wedding many years ago. in 1956.  We always had our frequent chat's via Shaw tel.and many hours of laughter when he reminded me about the old days back home.. He loved Bombay & Goa.  We  4  had  our vacation together  there one year.
In fact as I wrote my late husband Tony's  and my memories   I had to call him often, re: the many old stories .

Our heartfelt condolences to Hector's family on his passing. He was such a kind man who enjoyed taking pictures of all the CANOSCA functions and shared them all with us. We will always remember his laughter and kind ways and will miss him. May he rest in peace.
