She was very active in her community. Helen put on all kinds of events in the communities she lived in. Local stores would donate clothing for the seniors to model at her fashion shows. Musicians and entertainers would donate their time to perform for the residents and any proceeds made would be donated to cancer research. She was always getting people to come out of their shells and socialize. Helen was an avid gardener, tending to and planting flowers in her community. Helen was an excellent cook. During the holidays Helen would cook for her neighbours and offer lunches for everyone to get together and socialize.
Helen was incredibly artistic; she would host art shows in Calgary. Often selling her artwork. She was also a seamstress, making much of her own clothing as well as sending handmade clothes to her siblings. Helen even owned her own western store in Ottawa.
She was also active in life, having a love for swimming and horseback riding. Enjoying visits to Shuswap to spend time on the lake.
Helen was very positive and happy in life. She loved life and was very confident. There was not much that Helen could not do. She wasn’t just a glass half full person; her cup was truly FULL.
