

Mr. Henry Adrian Savage of Calgary passed away at the Rockyview General Hospital on Monday, August 23, 2010 after a lengthy illness. Adrian was born and educated in Belfast, Northern Ireland, where he excelled in sports at Bangor Grammar and Malone, his favourites being cricket and rugby (his most memorable highlight was scoring the winning try against the touring RAF team while playing for Maple Leaf Rugby Club). He immigrated to Canada in 1955, settling in Winnipeg before moving to Calgary in 1977. Adrian worked in the insurance industry, most notably with Commercial Union, until his retirement. Adrian is survived by his son Andrew (Audra), daughters Susan (Gus) and Janet (Sean), all of Calgary. Adrian was also the Grandpa of Karissa, Eric, Mikylla and Danae Savage; Darcy, Georgeanne and Jonah van Helden; and Kait, Josh and Jake Kearns. He is also survived by his dear companion Greta Timmer-Koster, of Calgary, and his brother, Mervyn (Judy) and their daughter Karen, of Winnipeg. He was predeceased by his father, Harry (1990) and mother, Florence (2005).
A Memorial Service, officiated by Rev. Jagdutt Singh, will be held at SOUTH CALGARY FUNERAL CENTRE, 12700 Macleod Trail South, (at Lake Fraser Gate) Calgary on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. with a reception to follow.
