Horst Kazmaier was born August 25, 1933 in Neustadt a. d. Haardt, Germany to Martin and Anna Kazmaier. He was predeceased by his parents and siblings, Traudel, Manfred, Johanna and Karl. He leaves to mourn his sister-in-law Lilo Kazmaier, cousin Brigitte Reis and his nephew and nieces and their families; Peter and Kathy Kazmaier, Wilfred and Andrea Kazmaier; Susan and Garry Schmidt; Klaus and Roswitha Müller and Dagmar and Thomas Keller.
Although Onkel Horst was a quiet soul, he played an important role in the life of his nephews and nieces and their families. He enjoyed camping with family and reading his newspaper and returning to Germany for visits. Horst had been a hard worker during his working years.
We are deeply indebted to the Salvation Army who took care of Horst for a time when he needed them before retirement. After he had a mild stroke, he moved to the Lodge at Valley Ridge where he received exemplary care. He enjoyed the food, entertainment, and church services. Horst was later joined there by his brother Karl and Lilo and they had a chance to see each other more often.
Horst spent his final years at the Brentwood Care Centre. We are very grateful to all the staff at St. Andrews West who cared for Horst during the difficult years of Covid with compassion and patience.
This verse was written to Horst in 1970 by his parents.
2 Timothy 3:14-15 14
But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, 15 and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
We will miss you Onkel Horst.
